Lees-McRae College Guaranteed Admission Program

The Guaranteed Admission Program (GAP) is designed to provide students affordable access to higher education and additional support services during their time at CCC&TI for a successful transition to Lees-McRae.

Providing a pathway for students who plan to earn a bachelor’s degree, the agreement will guarantee admission to Lees-McRae for CCC&TI students who complete certain two-year associate degrees. Students must meet academic requirements, which vary based on the program of study they plan to enter.

In addition, CCC&TI students who enroll full-time at Lees-McRae will automatically qualify for the Lees-McRae’s New Horizon Transfer Scholarship. Awards are based on academic performance and range from $2,000 up to $14,000 per academic year.

Eligible Programs:

All CCC&TI students seeking transfer to the LMC main campus academic programs, with an A.A., A.S., A.A.S., or A.F.A. degree and an overall grade point average of 2.2 or higher, are guaranteed admission into the following programs:

Business Administration (B.S.)
Communication Arts & Design (B.S., B.A.)
Criminal Justice (B.A., B.S.)
Emergency Medical Services & Management (B.S.)
English (B.A.)
Exercise Science (B.S.)
History (B.A., B.S.)
Musical Theatre (B.F.A.)

Nutrition Science (B.S.)
Outdoor Recreation Management (B.S.)
Psychology (B.A., B.S.)
Religious Studies (B.A., B.S.)
Sport Management (B.A., B.S.)
Theatre Arts Administration (B.S.)
Theatre Arts (B.A., B.S.)

All CCC&TI students seeking transfer to the LMC main campus academic programs, with an A.A., A.S., A.A.S., or A.F.A. degree and an overall grade point average of 2.5 or higher, are guaranteed admission into the following programs:

Biology (B.S.)
Pre-Physical Therapy (B.S.)
Pre-Veterinary Medicine (B.S.)
Wildlife Biology (B.S.)

Students seeking to enter our Elementary Education, Special Education or Nursing Program must meet the following for each intended major.

Elementary & Special Education

CCC&TI transfer students must meet the same requirements for admission to and exit from the program as traditional candidates. This includes admission to the online degree completion program in Elementary Education. In order to ensure that these requirements are met, transfer and licensure-only candidates must follow the procedures outlined below:

Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA or higher, must meet the "C" standard set for the Teacher Education Program
Upon acceptance into Lees-McRae College, students will submit an application for the education program along with completing the Praxis (5751) with a composite of 468 or higher, by Nov. 1 of their Junior Year.

To receive recommendation for licensure from Lees-McRae College, candidates must take the last 32 hours of professional education course work, including student teaching, through the Lees-McRae Teacher Education Program.

Nursing Program

Must meet the Application requirements for the Nursing Program. This includes our RN to BSN and LPN to BSN online degree completion program.

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
"B-" or higher earned in courses designated as BIO, MAT, CHM or HWS

All CCC&TI students seeking transfer to one of LMC’s online degree completion programs, with an A.A., A.S., A.A.S., or A.F.A. degree and an overall grade point average of 2.2 or higher, are guaranteed admission into the following programs:

Business Administration (B.S.)
Criminal Justice (B.A.A.S.)
Human Services (B.A.A.S)
