Garrison Burress hit a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning as Caldwell took game one of the doubleheaders against Combine Academy Global Wednesday in Lincolnton. Burress finished 1-3 with four RBI and a walk.

Hayden Setzer also had a home run in the game, a solo shot in the third inning.

Game Recap:

Caldwell used a seven run fourth inning to pull away from Combine Academy Global, winning 11-5 to take game two and sweep the doubleheader Wednesday in Lincolnton.

Drew Brink, Drew Park, Koby McCall, and Evan Johnson each drove in runs in the fourth inning as the Cobras extended their lead to eight runs.

Prior to the fourth inning offensive output, the Cobras broke a tie game in the third inning when Breon Ishmael hit a three-run homerun.

Caldwell 8-2.

Next Game:

Caldwell will travel to Surry Community College (Dobson, NC) for a doubleheader on Friday starting a noon.
The Region 10 Division Three opener for both teams, game one will be a nine-inning game while game two is scheduled for seven innings.
The two teams are scheduled to play one nine-inning game on Sunday in Lenoir starting at 1 p.m.
