Caldwell Volleyball Earns Top Ten Finish at National Championship Tournament

Caldwell Community College & Technical Insititute's volleyball rebounded from an opening day loss to win two matches and finish in the top-ten of the National Junior College Athletics Association Division Three National Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

On Friday's day two of the tournament, seventh-seeded Caldwell defeated fifteenth-seeded Raritan Valley Community College (New Jersey) 3-1 and sixth-seeded Finger Lakes Community College (New York) 3-0 to earn a spot in Saturday's consolation finals. The Cobras dropped a 0-3 decision to eight-seeded Harper College (Illinois) in the finals to close out the season and the program's first trip to the National Championships.

Caldwell, in just their second season after restarting a program that had been dormant since 2008, finished the 2023 season with a 23-7 record. The Cobras were champions of Region 10 and the Mid-Atlantic District.

Caldwell's Laney Criag was selected to the All-Tournament team. Prior to the start of the tournament, head coach Brian Harris was honored as Mid-Atlantic District Coach of the Year.

Dallas College-Eastfield completed an undefeated season (35-0) to win their second national championship. The Harvester Bees swept Century College (Minnesota) 25-19, 25-11, 25-22 in the championship match, their 29th straight sets victory of the season.
