Men's Basketball Team Win 2 Games in The Senator's Classic

The men's basketball team opened up the season with a bang traveling to Walters State and winning two huge games in The Senator's Classic. The Cobras went into the weekend as the underdog for both games but quickly became the talk of the tournament.

On Friday, the Cobras dismantled perennial power, Chattanooga State, 101-71. Caldwell was led by freshman, Jalen Crowder, with 17 points while Anderson Keller added 14 points. Lloyd Hemming and Kameron Cooke both added 13 points. Freshman, Jalen Barr, had a game high 15 rebounds.

On Saturday, the Cobras faced tournament host, Walters State, who entered the season ranked 25th in the NJCAA Division I national ranking poll. Caldwell would jump out to an early lead and never look back capturing a 96-89 win to move to 2-0 on the season. Sophomore returner, Lloyd Hemming, led the Cobras with 16 points while Jalen Crowder added 15 points. Jalen Barr and Demitri Dixon added 14 and 12 points respectively. Jalen Gibson grabbed a game high 13 rebounds.

The men's basketball team will be back in action versus CVCC at home on Wednesday at 7pm. Admission is $5. All students, faculty, & staff get free admission with college ID.
