Courses Include:

Basic Anatomy & Physiology

This course provides a basic study of the structure and function of the human body. Topics include a basic study of the body systems as well as an introduction to homeostasis, cells, tissues, nutrition, acid-base balance, and electrolytes. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the fundamental principals of anatomy and physiology. This course is a prerequisite for EMS 4400, Paramedic Initial.

CPR

This course is designed to instruct students in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with an emphasis on prevention through changes in lifestyles. Successful completion of the course will result in certification from the American Heart Association .

First Aid

This course covers the basics for first aid, including what to look for prior to giving care to ensure patient safety. Skills learned include bleeding control, basic splinting and caring for shock and diabetic emergencies. First aid classes can be customized to meet the individual and/or group needs.
