Emphasis is placed on:
- Civil Litigation
- Legal Research and Writing
- Real Estate
- Family Law
- Wills, estates and trusts
- Commercial Law
For more information about course descriptions or required courses,
refer to the current CCC&TI Course Catalog
and its corresponding Addendum. Courses in the Paralegal Technology program
are taught during the day and evening, and some courses are available
through Distance Learning.
Employment Outlook
The Department of Labor's Occupational Outlook Handbook states, "Employment for paralegals and legal assistants is projected to grow much faster than average for all occupations through 2014. Employers are trying to reduce costs and increase the availability and efficiency of legal services by hiring paralegals to perform tasks formerly carried out by lawyers. Private law firms will continue to be the largest employers of paralegals, but a growing array of other organizations, such as corporate legal departments, insurance companies, real estate and title insurance firms, and banks hire paralegals." ((Visited 2006, Aug. 21)).
