Green Tax Advantages
Course Description
Although the cost of installing new appliances, making energy efficient upgrades on the home or adding renewable energy devices may be a large expense up-front, the return on investment can be accelerated with the federal and state incentives. Students will learn about the renewable energy portfolio standard (REPS) and the related renewable energy credits (RECs) and carbon offsets which can equal significant revenue streams for consumers turned energy producers. Other incentives including energy efficient mortgages (EEM) and private mortgage insurance (PMI) waivers are available. This course is designed for residential or commercial consumers and professionals in real estate, construction or financial services. Continuing education units (CEUs) are available for this course.
