Admission Requirements

  • 17 years of age on or before the official end date of the course
  • Possession of a high school diploma, high school equivalency or successful completion of an exam assessing basic reading comprehension skills at a minimum at the eleventh-grade level.

  • Is there a state or national certification test?
    • Yes, upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to sit for the North Carolina OEMS EMT Basic exam or the National Registry EMT exam. Successful completion of the exam will result in receiving a certification in EMT Basic from either NC OEMS or National Registry.
