Fundamentals of Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Service

The Imaging service program at CCC&TI will provide an excellent foundation for a career in imaging equipment service.

OEM training schools will give you the knowledge needed to service a particular piece of equipment but they will expect you to already possess the general knowledge associated with imaging equipment.

❖ Will the program give me the knowledge to repair imaging equipment?

Yes, up to point. The program will provide the basic knowledge needed to access and identify various types of issues with imaging equipment. It will not, however, be able to exactly define the way each OEM designs a specific function, this knowledge can only be gained at an OEM training facility.
❖ Is there a Certification that this class will prepare me for?

 AAMI has a certification for radiology equipment repair just as it does for biomedical and lab equipment. In order to obtain this certification the applicant must pass an exam as well as complete 2 years of work at an imaging service job.

❖ Is there lab time?

 Yes. Two Saturdays a month during the program the class will meet on campus for hands on instruction.

❖ Is the program difficult?

 Some parts can be complex, but the instructors are dedicated to helping you understand the information    and will do everything in their power to help you succeed.

❖ How long does the program last?

 The program runs for three months.
