The course is divided between 600 hours didactic, which includes time for classroom, lab, written and practical skills examinations and review. 300 hours
field internship with an EMS agency and 200 hours clinical education at a hospital. Coursework provides students with basic essential knowledge and
skills required to work as an EMT Paramedic.

Admission Requirements
Pre-Requisites:
- Successful completion of all EMT educational requirements, before participating in the clinical
education and field internship components
- Possession of a high school diploma or high school equivalency
- Successful completion of an entrance exam assessing basic reading comprehension and English language
writing skills on a post-secondary level
- Demonstration of mathematical skills at a minimum at the post-secondary grade level

- Yes, upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to sit for the North Carolina OEMS Paramedic exam or the National
Registry EMTP exam. Successful completion of the exam will result in receiving a certification in EMT Paramedic from either NC OEMS
or National Registry.

Authorization granted to CCC&TI to provide instruction within another state does not imply or provide guarantees of any kind that an individual will be granted professional licensure by another state as a result of completing coursework at CCC&TI or receiving professional licensure in North Carolina. It is the sole responsibility of the individual/student to determine whether another college or license-awarding agency in another state will accept CCC&TI coursework and/or award licensure through a reciprocity agreement with the State of North Carolina.
