CCC&TI Ambassador Program

The Ambassador Program of Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute gives students the opportunity to serve as trusted counselors and friends for other students. The positive self-image of an Ambassador can have a significant effect on other members of the student body and the surrounding community.

Mission Statement

As a CCC&TI Ambassador, it is our mission to provide leadership and assistance for Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute students and events.

Ambassador Activities

Ambassadors participate in special activities that promote a positive self-image, communication skills, and an understanding of the important role that education plays in their lives. Ambassador activities include:

  • Representing the College in the community
  • Collecting in-kind gifts for the CCC&TI Foundation
  • Giving campus tours and assisting with registration and orientation
  • Assisting with graduation ceremonies

What is an Ambassador?

Ambassadors are a special group of students at Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute who have been nominated by college faculty and staff to be quality representatives of the college. The nominees have been recognized for their exemplary work and their personal leadership standards. Ambassador nominees have exhibited the following leader attributes:

  • Dedicated to learning by maintaining a GPA of 3.0
  • Self-confident, determined, and able to present themselves well in public environments
  • Willing to dedicate a portion of their time to assist and mentor others at CCC&TI
  • Role model to other students

Benefits of Membership

As well as the recognition of being a proud member of the Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute's Ambassador Program, member benefits include:

  • Networking with other campus and community leaders
  • Recognition of faculty and staff as well as your peers
  • Leadership training

Membership Requirements

In order to be an Ambassador, you must be able to:

  • Participate in at least 50% of Ambassador Program activities
  • Promote the Ambassador Program and Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute
  • Attend regularly scheduled monthly meetings whenever possible
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA

Becoming an Ambassador

During spring semester each year, faculty and staff submit confidential names of curriculum students whom they wish to nominate for the Ambassador Program. Nominees must exhibit the following attributes of a quality leader:

  • dedication to learning with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • characteristics of self-confidence and goal orientation
  • service as an excellent role model and mentor for other students
  • positive representation on campus and at community events
  • willingness to devote time to assist others at CCC&TI and in the community

A listing of nominees is then sent to Faculty Senate members, curriculum vice-presidents and their department chairpersons, and to the Vice-Presidents of Instruction and Student Services for comments and support or reservation. Nominees on the finalized listing are invited to a spring reception to determine acceptance into membership for the next scholastic year.
