What is the Dream Scholarship Program?
The Dream Scholarship is designed to encourage promising students to complete their education and pursue post-secondary education with guaranteed free tution to Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.
How are "Dreamers" chosen?
Students are nominated by teachers, guidance counselors and principals. To be selected students must:
- Be enrolled in the sixth grade in Caldwell or Watauga Counties.
- Demonstrate academic achievement.
- Be the child of parents who do not have a college bachelor's or associate degree.
- Show potential for success through leadership qualities, group involvement or community activities.
Why sixth graders?
- Family circumstances
- Financial hardships
- Peer pressure
- Past disappointment...
...are all the factors that have the power to shatter dreams. The promise of free college tution encourages these special students to complete high school and ensures them of a future.
What do "Dreamers" receive?
Free tution to CCC&TI upon completition of high school. Program provides mentoring by matching students with personal sponsors. Dream Scholars also receive free admission to events and performances at the college's J.E. Broyhill Civic Center, Foothills Performing Arts Theater, or Appalachian State University's Farthing Auditorium in Boone.

Invest in the future of Caldwell and Watauga Counties! Your contribution of any amount will help fund tution for deserving a student. All gifts are tax deductible.
