Cooperative Education Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to participate in the Cooperative Education Program, students must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Employment must be directly related to the curriculum in which the student is enrolled.
- The position must be a new learning experience.
- Work-study students are eligible only if the work relates to their curriculum.
- Students enrolled in approved Associate in Applied Science Degree and Diploma programs may earn a maximum of six (6) semester hours of academic credit.
- Students enrolled in College Transfer programs may earn one (1) semester hour of academic credit which is non-transferable.
- Must work at least an average of ten (10) hours per week for a total of 160 hours to earn one (1) hour of academic credit.
- Must work at least an average of twenty (20) hours per week for a total of 320 hours to earn two (2) hours of academic credit.
- Cannot be self-employed.
- Student must have a minimum 2.0 GPA to enroll in Cooperative Education.
- Student must have successfully completed coursework in his or her curriculum.
