Game Recap:

Caldwell Community College & Tehcnical Institute's softball team swept a doubleheader against visiting Owens (OH) Community College on Monday afternoon, winning 5-4 in game one and 9-3 in the second game.

In game one, Isabelle Curry picked up the win in the circle, striking out 13 batters while allowing only three hits. She also had a double at the plate.

Offensively for the Cobras, Regan Winkler got a two RBI double in the first inning to put the Cobras ahead 2-0. In the second inning, Kaylee Redwine's two RBI homerun put Caldwell ahead 4-0.

Caldwell surrendered three runs to the Express in the third inning. Caldwell would get one of those runs back in the fourth inning when Kenley Jackson hit an RBI double to give the Cobras their fifth run of the game.

Game Recap:

In game two, Kylie Reid and Ashley Antonio each hit a RBI double in the bottom of the second inning to give the Cobras a 2-0 lead. In the fourth inning, Antonio would lead off with a triple followed by an RBI single from Curry to give Caldwell a 3-0 advantage. Christa Walsh's double would plate Curry and the Cobras led 4-0 heading to the fifth inning.

After Owens scored three runs in the top of the fifth to cut the deficit to one run, Caldwell would respond with five runs in the bottom half of the inning to put the game out of reach. Jackson, Walsh, and Winkler each picked up RBIs in the inning.

Records: Caldwell 14-12.
