Caldwell scored three runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed enroute to a 10-7 victory over Cleveland on Wednesday in Shelby, NC.
Breon Ishmael's single plated Caldwell's first two runs and Isaiah Kirby's sacrifice fly RBI gave Caldwell the early three run lead.
Jacob Bebber's two RBI homerun in the top of the fourth inning gave Caldwell an 8-1 lead, their largest of the day.
Starter Cody Smart picked up the win on the mound, going four innings while allowing four runs off four hits. Bradley Jordan came in from the bullpen in the eighth inning and allowed only one hit in two innings of work to earn the save.
