Game Recap:

Caldwell surrendered five runs to Wake Tech in the top of the first inning before storming back to win the game one of Sunday afternoon's double header via the mercy rule, 16-8.

In the bottom of the second inning, Derek Farley got the Cobras on the board with a three RBI double, cutting the Eagles' lead to 5-3 after two innings complete.

Caldwell would explode for seven runs in the third inning. Hayden Setzer doubled to score two runs. Derek Farley then collected his fourth RBI, followed by a three run homerun from Bo Davison to make the score 10-5 heading to the fourth inning.

Leading 10-6 in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Cobras added five more runs. Davidson would collect an RBI single and Breon Ishmael would get an two RBI double. Later in the inning, Jacob Bebber and Garrison Burress would collect RBI singles, staking Caldwell to a 15-6 advantage.

Leading 15-8 in the bottom of the seventh, Bebber would double into center field, scoring Ishmael and ending the game via the mercy rule, 16-8.

Caldwell tallied 12 hits in the game. Bebber, Davidson, Ishmael, and Steven Smith each had multiple hits, Bebber collected three hits in five at bats.

The season opening victory was the first victory under Caldwell's new head coach, Gage Parham. It was also the first time in program history that the Cobras have won their season opener.

Game Recap:

Jacob Bebber hit a walk off RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead Caldwell to a 9-8 victory over Wake Tech in game two of Sunday's double header.

Trailing 1-0 in the first inning, Garrison Burress hit a grand slam homerun to put the Cobras ahead 4-1. Bo Davidson would hit a solo homerun in the second inning to push the Caldwell advantage to 5-1.

Leading 5-2 in the third inning, Dalton Stikeleather had a two RBI single to increase the Cobra advantage to 7-2 over the Eagles.

Wake Tech would cut the lead to 7-5 by scoring three runs in the top of the fourth inning. Steven Smith would get one of those runs back for the Cobras in the bottom of the inning, scoring from third on a pass ball.

Wake Tech would score the next three runs of the game, one in the sixth inning and two in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 8, setting the stage for Bebber's walk off hit in the bottom of the inning.
