Emergency Medical Responder

Emergency Medical Responder - EMR

This is an entry level course for state certification. This course prepares students to perform Basic Life Support skills to assist Emergency Medical Technicians in the field. Skills developed are patient assessment, CPR, splinting and hemorrhage control.

Prerequisites:

  • 17 years of age on or before the official end date of the course
  • Possession of a high school diploma, high school equivalency or successful completion of an exam assessing basic reading comprehension skills at a minimum at the tenth-grade level.
