What is WebAdvisor?

WebAdvisor is CCC&TI's online registration tool. It is how you can access our registration computers that will take your class requests and process them based on class availability, prerequisite classes (classes you must take before enrolling in the requested class) and corequisite classes (classes you take while taking the class in question). WebAdvisor also gives you confidential access to your class schedule, grade and financial aid information, transcripts, your account status (fines/fee/tuition that you owe) and more.

We are focusing our attention on class registration at this time. You are welcome to explore other areas of WebAdvisor, but be aware that not all sections are operational at this time.

You will be allowed access to WebAdvisor to complete your Fall 2005 registration beginning 8 a.m., Monday, July 11 through noon, Friday, July 22.

Online registration is available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. during that period and can be done from any computer connected to the Internet. Just log in to your COBRAS account to access WebAdvisor.

IMPORTANT: WebAdvisor will not allow you to complete your registration until you visit with your on-campus academic advisor to discuss your schedule. Once you meet with your advisor, he or she will remove the block on registration from your account.

How do I use WebAdvisor?

WebAdvisor is designed to be user-friendly, but it can be intimidating to new users. Use the online help provided to learn how to search for classes, how to register, how to express register for classes and how to drop classes from your schedule.

If you still need help, call 828.726.2701 between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or e-mail mmoore@cccti.edu. Please be aware that e-mail requests will be answered as soon as possible, but it may be several hours before you receive a reply.

Which browsers can I use with WebAdvisor?

WebAdvisor works best with Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers on PCs or Macintoshes. For best results the browsers we recommend version 4.x or later. Mac OSX users: We recommend Mozilla Firefox or IE 5 for best results.

WebAdvisor has been installed on other computer platforms such as X Windows, but it has not been rigorously tested on these platforms and may not function properly.

How do I print my schedule using my Web browser?

Please read this section carefully. You will need a printout of your completed schedule when you pay for clasesses and for your own records.

For PC and Mac Users

Printing schedule information from the browser

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click the Print icon in your brower's tool bar, or
    • Select File > Print from the menu bar at the top of the browser window, or
    • Press Ctrl + P on your keyboard.
  2. In the Print dialog box, choose a printer and click OK.
    • Tip: Some fo the forms are easier to read when printed in Landscape mode. To change page orientation, cancel out of the Print dialog box, if it's still open, and choose File > Page Setup and select Landscape in the Orientation section. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to print the page.

For Macintosh Users

Printing schedule information from the browser

For OS 9 Users
You can change the destination printer by clicking on the Apple icon in the upper left-hand corner of the window and then clicking Chooser in the drop-down menu. The Chooser dialog box will display a graphic of all the printers set up for your Macintosh. Select the new printer by clicking on the appropriate icon and then close the dialog box by clicking the upper left corner of the box. Some of the forms will be more legible if you print them using Landscape mode. To print a form in Landscape mode, click File and then Page Setup in the drop-down menu. Click the Orientation icon to change the printer setting from Portrait to Landscape mode. The accompanying graphic will illustrate that you made the change. Click OK to enable the setting and print the form using the instructions presented previously.

For OS X Users
You can change the destination printer by clicking on the name of the printer in the Print dialog box. Select the new printer by clicking on the appropriate name in the list and then choosing Print to close the dialog box. Some of the forms will be more legible if you print them using Landscape mode. To print a form in Landscape mode, choose Page Setup in the drop-down menu under the printer menu. Click the Orientation icon to change the printer setting from Portrait to Landscape mode. The accompanying graphic will illustrate that you made the change. Click OK to enable the setting and print the form using the instructions presented previously.

Does WebAdvisor install "cookies" on my computer?

WebAdvisor requires that you have cookies enabled on your browser in order to function properly.

WebAdvisor puts a session cookie on your desktop when you log into the system. This cookie is used to keep track of where you are at in WebAdvisor and to assist you getting to where you need to go. When you close your browser, the cookie created by WebAdvisor is erased.

How do I pay for classes once I've registered online?

Online payment is now available via WebAdvisor upon completion of your online registration. You may also pay in person at the Business Office on either the Caldwell or Watauga campus, by phone (credit card), or by mail (personal check or money order). The business office accepts MasterCard and Visa, personal checks and financial aid disbursements.

Payment is due at the end of the early registration period (if you are a current student and are taking advantage of early registration) or at the end of the day of regular registration. See the CCC&TI Registration Schedule for the current semester's early and regular registration dates.
