Caldwell Community College defeats Denmark Tech 79-69. Half time score was 36-35. The Lady Cobras were led in scoring by Syndey Surratt with 24, and Miranda Britt with 21. THE LADY COBRAS PLAYED VERY WELL IN THE FIRST HALF, BUT RAN OUT OF GAS IN THE SECOND HALF.  THE LADY COBRAS HAVE 6 PLAYERS, BUT KRISTEN QUEEN WAS HIT BY HER OWN PLAYER ( CHELSEA THOMAS ) WITH AN ELBOW TO THE EYE.  SHE HAS TO BE ESCORTED TO THE HOSPITAL, AND DID NOT RETURN. THE LADY COBRAS PLAYED WITH 5 PLAYERS MOST OF THE GAME.  COACH SAID, "I CAN'T BE MORE PROUD OF A TEAM THAN ANY OTHER COACH IN AMERICA." THOSE 5 GIRLS FOUGHT THEIR HEARTS OUT TODAY.

The Lady Cobras Win their first game of the Season against a team ( Piedmont Baptist College ) that had beat them twice already this year. The final score was 66-59 for the Lady Cobras. They were led in scoring by Sydney Surratt with 25 points. At half time it was 36-19 Cobras. Syndey Surratt was named to the all tournament team. Coach Heavner said, "We finally put two halves of basketball together tonight. The girls played their heart out." The Lady Cobras were scheduled to play Free Will Baptist College out of Tennessee tomorrow, but due to death this week in Coach Heavner's Family ( Margaret Williams, an Aunt ), the Game was cancelled by both Coaches and was agreed it was the right thing to do under this circumstances. The Lady Cobras are at Home Sunday against Brunswick College at 2:00 in Hudson, NC.

58-32 was the final score on Thursday night in Winston-Salem, NC for the Lady Cobras.  Cold shooting to start the game caused a deficit that the lady cobras couldn't over come. They trailed the entire game. The Lady Cobras on dressed 6 players.

The Lady Cobras fall to Piedmont Baptist College. 54-51. Piedmont was led by Erica Buffaloe with 14. The Cobras were led by Sidney Surratt with 20 points, and Miranda Britt with 15.  The game had multiple lead changes. With 14 seconds to go Piedmont hit a 3 pointer to go ahead. The Cobras took a shot to tie it, but came up short.  Coach Heavner said, "I told my girls considering it is Thanksgiving, I am so Thankful for the opportunity to be here at Caldwell coaching them. I thought we played hard, but just came up a little short." The Lady Cobras are in action Monday night at Home against CVCC at 5:00pm. The Men play right after the women.

11-20-2010, Supply, NC

Lady Cobras fall to Brunswick Community College in Supply, North Carolina. The final score was 75-49. The Lady Cobras were led by Sidney Surratt with 22 points. That puts the Lady Cobras at 0-4. The Lady Cobras host Piedmont Baptist College on Tuesday night in Hudson, NC.

11-11-2010, Winston-Salem, NC

The Lady Cobras(0-3)  Fall to Piedmont Baptist College in a game of nip and tuck.  The Cobras took and early lead only to be down at halftime 30-27. The final score was 60-59.  With 17 seconds to go the Cobras had the lead, but with 6 seconds to go Piedmont scored a lay-up.  The Cobras called timeout.  With the remaining time the Cobras drove the floor, and took a desperation 3, but it rimmed out.  Miranda Britt lead the Lady Cobras with 17 followed by DD Stockton with 13.  Coach Rick Heavner said, "I thought the ladies played tough tonight, we were just one play away. We put ourselves in a position to win. That's all you can ask of your team." I was proud of them for playing 40 minutes."
