Non-Discrimination Policy

This policy supports the protection of citizens by all applicable federal laws, including Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Equal Pay Act of 1963, Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments, Executive Order 11246 as amended by 11375 Title VII (Section 799A) and Title VIII (Section 845) of the Public Health Service Act, Age Discrimination Act, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991.

CCC&TI has implemented grievance procedures concerning cases of alleged discrimination, including those of alleged sexual harassment, for faculty, staff, and students. Sexual harassment shall be deemed a form of discrimination based on sex as prohibited by Section 703 of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the North Carolina General Statute 126-16 (for employees), and Title VI of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 (for students). Anyone believing he or she has been discriminated against or desiring more information concerning these provisions should contact either the Director of Human Resources or the Vice President of Student Services.
