Workforce Ready

Workforce Ready is a one-year job training certificate program.
This entry-level program:
  • Provides a foundation for transitioning into a career or additional coursework
  • Allows the students to further develop reading, math, computer skills, and job skills
  • Provides participation in a hands-on practicum experience within a specific program of study
  • Does not require any prerequisite classes or degrees
Adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Available Programs and Schedules

  • Auto Mechanics and Detailing Assistant
    • Monday-Thursday
      10 am - 12 pm    Academic Study
      12 pm - 1 pm    Lunch on your own
      1 pm - 3 pm    Academic Support for Career Training and Exploration
      3 pm - 5 pm    Auto Mechanics and Detail Assistant
  • Landscape Gardening Assistant
    • Monday-Thursday
      8:30 am - 10 am    Academic Support for Career Training and Exploration
      10 am - 12 pm    Academic Study
      12 pm - 1 pm    Lunch on your own
    • Mondays and Wednesdays
      1 pm - 3 pm    Landscape/Gardening
    • Tuesdays and Thursdays
      1 pm - 3:50 pm    Landscape/Gardening
  • Food Services Assistant
    • Monday-Thursday
         Schedule to be announced at a later date

Who Can Enroll in Workforce Ready?

Students who have been referred by:
  • Academic Advisors
  • Academic and Career Readiness Instructors
  • Guidance Counselors
  • High School Exceptional Children’s teachers
  • Social Worker/Case Manager
  • Transition Advisors
  • Transition Coordinators
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Services
Students must be 18 years of age or older.
Transportation is not provided; the student is responsible for his/her own transportation.

When Will Workforce Ready Classes Be Offered?

Workforce Ready follows the regular CCC&TI academic calendar.
Classes begin in August and end in May.

How Can I Apply for Workforce Ready?

Workforce Ready application packets for the 2016-2017 academic year are available for download from the CCCTI website or by request from CCC&TI’s College and Career Readiness Division.

Application packets are due by noon on Friday, July 15, 2016 to Ginny Navarro, Coordinator of Special Populations.

Mrs. Navarro’s office is located in G Building, Room 204 on the Caldwell Campus of CCC&TI.

What is the Cost of Workforce Ready?

Tuition is $181 for each semester and must be paid before attending the first class.
There may be additional costs for textbooks and supplies.

Scholarships may be available through NCWorks or the Education Foundation.
