Adult Basic Education (ABE)

What is ABE?

ABE (Adult Basic Education) classes are for students who want to improve their reading, writing, math, or computer literacy skills.

Why should I Choose ABE?

ABE classes help students improve their academic skills to prepare for high school equivalency classes and the classes are free! ABE students may also participate in job training classes to learn workforce preparation skills.

Who is eligible?

Adults who want to improve their academic skills or receive workforce training are eligible.

When and where are classes offered?

The class schedule changes due to demand, but classes are generally available mornings and evenings, on-campus and at off-campus locations. For a current class schedule, please call 828.726.2230.

How do I enroll?

All ABE students must pick up an enrollment packet and take a reading and math assessment. Students will then meet with an advisor to find a suitable class. For questions, please call 828.726.2230 (Caldwell) or 828.297.8120 (Watauga).

Please note: CCC&TI's campuses are located in Western North Carolina.
