Basic Skills GED/Adult High School Graduation

The Basic Skills GED/Adult High School Graduation is held in May of each year.  It is the highlight of our spring for both students and faculty and staff.

Friends and family members of our graduates join us at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir, North Carolina to watch their loved ones cross the stage in cap and gown to receive their Adult High School Diploma or GED certificate.

Borrow a Cap/Gown

You may choose to borrow a cap/gown from the Basic Skills Department to participate in the graduation ceremony. To borrow, call Kim Hinton (726.2235) before May 1, 2009. You will pick up these caps and gowns upstairs in the Broyhill Civic Center on the night of graduation.

Purchase a Cap/Gown/Tassel

Caldwell Graduates: Bring your check or cash to the Business Office in A-Bldg. (H.E. Beam Hall) at CCC&TI. It is on the main floor. Keep the receipt in order to be able to pick up your cap/gown.

Watauga Graduates: Bring your check or cash to the Business Office on the Watauga Campus. Keep the receipt in order to be able to pick up your cap/gown.

Pick-up of Purchased Caps & Gowns (RECEIPT REQUIRED)

Caldwell Graduates: Pick up caps/gowns in the Basic Skills Dept. in G-Bldg.
                                  April 20 or 21— 11am-1pm or 5pm-7pm

Watauga Graduates: Pick up caps/gowns in the Watauga Basic Skills Facility
                                  April 23— 11am-1pm or 5pm-7pm
                                  April 24— 11am-1pm

If you complete your GED after the pick-up date, you may still purchase or borrow a cap/gown.

Caldwell students purchasing after the pick-up date may bring your receipt to Kim Hinton in Office G-204 (Mon-Fri—8am-5pm) before May 1 to pick up your cap/gown.

Watauga students purchasing after the pick-up date may bring your receipt to Ms LeFever or Tara in Basic Skills (Mon - Fri - 8am-5pm) before May 1 to pick up your cap/gown.
