Special studies or visiting students are students who are not enrolled in a degree, diploma or certificate program or are taking classes to transfer back to their home institution.
Special studies students are not required to submit high school transcripts, but are required to provide documentation that prerequisites have been met, if applicable. Special Studies students are not eligible for Financial Aid.
Applicants will need their Residency Certification Number (RCN) to complete Step 2. Navigate to the NC Residency Determination website and complete the interview. Do not forget to write down the Residency Certification Number when it is assigned.
Apply online at CFNC.org using the Residency Certification Number provided in step 1. The application user name and password is the same as the one you used in Step 1. Please select Special Studies Student or Visiting Student as your program of study on the college application.

MyCCCTI is your student resource portal which also includes your student email account. Your CCC&TI login credentials will be mailed and emailed to you after completing the college application (step #2). MyCCCTI Portal Login Instructions.
Connect with a member of Student Services who will provide more information and assist you with registration and payment options.
Present a copy of your class schedule and a government issued ID to the library (Caldwell Campus) or receptionist desk (Watauga Campus Welcome Center) to have your student ID made.
Parking permits can be picked up at the receptionist desk on either campus. You will need your driver’s license and license plate number to complete the Parking Permit Registration form.
