CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) accredited programs are required to meet outcome benchmarks each year. Outcomes include North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services, Paramedic 3rd attempt test taker data.

Program Content

The course is divided between 600 hours didactic, which includes time for classroom, lab, written and practical skills examinations and review. 300 hours field internship with an EMS agency and 100 hours clinical education at a hospital. Coursework provides students with basic essential knowledge and skills required to work as an EMT Paramedic.

Admission Requirements

Pre-Requisites:

• Successful completion of EMT-Basic Certification
• Possession of a high school diploma or high school equivalency
• Successful completion of an entrance exam assessing basic reading comprehension and English language writing skills on a post-secondary level
• Demonstration of mathematical skills at a minimum at the post-secondary grade level
